Re: "Now if I can port my home phone number to a mobile phone number, then all would be perfect."

Felix, checkout GrandCentral
http://www.grandcentral.com/home/one_number

Use one phone number and have GrandCentral forward it to a cell number, landline, or voip client.

This should work for forwarding your home number to your T-mobile cell.

[...] Remember that T-Mobile HotSpot @Home program we mentioned yesterday? Well the company officially launched the service nationwide on Wednesday. Just to repeat, T-Mobile HotSpot @Home wireless service allows you to use a single phone - whether at home or on the road. When you’re at home, the phone connects to your home broadband network via Wi-Fi where you can enjoy unlimited domestic calling. When you’re on the road, you can enjoy the T-Mobile GSM/GPRS/EDGE network OR the countless Wi-Fi hotspots around the country. The phones in the program will seamlessly transfer the call from a Wi-Fi hotspot to a T-Mobile network should you leave the Wi-Fi hotspot (and vice versa) [...]
