I promise – this will be the last Apple iPhone related posting from me for the rest of the….. night (it’s nearly 11:15pm PST now here in LA). Heh.

Just wanted to summarize a couple of other points about the iPhone before calling it quits for the night.

1. Apple announced today that Apple retail stores would be closing on Friday June 29th from 2pm until 6pm in order to get read for the premiere of the iPhone. As everyone knows – make sure to be there early as the iPhone will be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Again – the stores will be closed from 2pm until 6pm. (I’ve got a dilemma on my hands. I still have six months left on my Verizon Wireless contract .. perhaps I can buy the phone and wait before activating?)

2. Speaking of activation, Apple has posted up a video about the whole “Activation & Sync” process. Apparently, you can purchase the phone from Apple or AT&T and then bring it home to activate via iTunes. Once connected to iTunes, you’ll be able to pick and choose the service you want to use. You can do this on both the Mac and PC. You simply need to download the latest version of iTunes. The net effect of this will be faster checkout lines at the stores since you won’t have to wait to get your account activated at the store. Keep in mind that AT&T will still run a credit check on you for the account.  You can download the video clip here.
