If there ever was a present someone could get me this summer, it would have to be the Liveboard. This is the perfect accessory for any MLB baseball addict such as myself. It’s a simple device that connects to the Internet to retrieve the current status of your favorite major league games. The Liveboard uses a classic LED display to provide information on the real time score, the current inning, the current batter count, and the number of people on base (and which base is occupied). It comes in a retro style that brings back the feel of the early days of baseball.

So how does it get it’s information? Simple - it connects to your PC wirelessly. If your PC has Bluetooth built right in, then you’re all set. The Liveboard is capable of connecting to Bluetooth enabled PCs (Windows XP and Vista based). If you don’t have Bluetooth - no problem, it comes with a wireless USB adapter for you. Mac and Linux support will be coming soon enough. Once connected to your PC, the Liveboard connects to the Internet to retrieve the latest baseball scores and info. The unit measures 7 x 4.2 x 1 inch and can be purchased for $299.

Boy.. I’m tempted to get this for the coming summer.
