Thinking about getting an iPhone and wondering what those data plans are going to be like? Well neither Apple nor AT&T has been very forthcoming on the data plans for some strange reason .. but the folks at the Boy Genius Report have managed to receive some supposed insider information on what the data plan will look like when the phone is launched this friday. First the ridiculous part of the rumor. The data plan is supposedly known as the iPlan (yes I nearly rolled over in laughter also). BGR has no idea whether that’s really the name or if it’s an internal name. OK.. stop the laughter. I can hear you from here!

Now the specifics.. or as best as possible:

• The data plan will cost between $34.99 to $44.99
• Will feature unlimited data
• It will come with either 2000 text messages or unlimited text messages – not clear yet

AND.. that’s it. That’s all we know thus far.. or rather – that’s all BGR knows thus far.

They did have other interesting tidbits for you. FedEx is apparently the courier of choice for the Apple iPhones. Don’t expect a single person manning the FedEx truck though. FedEx will apparently be manning the trucks in teams.

Oh and why the 6pm sell time? This will ensure that the Apple stores receive the iPhone shipments just in time from FedEx - also ensuring that there is no iPhone inventory at an Apple (or AT&T) store the night before the launch.
