tivoli audio logo If there’s any company that can make Internet audio viable in the living room, it would be Tivoli Audio. They’ve always created simple and elegant products that just work so you can imagine my excitement when I heard that they would introducing two new tabletop products specifically for Internet/Web radio later on this year. The two products are the tabletop NetWorks and the travel radio NetWorksGo. These radios will be capable of streaming thousands of Internet radio stations right out of the box. If it doesn’t have the station you’re looking for, simply contact Tivoli and they’ll take care of it.

According to Tivoli CEO, Tom DeVesto, the NetWorks product line has been in development for five years now. They were looking to achieve the following goal – get the consumer to plug the radio in, turn it on, and have it work easily. About the hardest thing would be to get the NetWorks and NetWorksGo radios to connect to a broadband connection of some sort – whether it’s Wi-Fi or Ethernet based.

The radios will connect to the web for radio stations and will also be capable of streaming music from a PC. File format support include MP3, WMA, and Real Audio. The tabletop NetWorks radio will come with a remote control. Both radios will have an auxiliary and USB inputs for connecting other devices such as an MP3 player. No word on pricing as of yet.
