LaptopMag reviews the Lenovo ThinkPad X61s and the ASUS G1S Gaming Notebook
LaptopMag has published several new laptop reviews (but of course!). The first review is the new Lenovo ThinkPad X61s ultra-portable notebook. We first saw the X61s back at the end of May along with several other Lenovo notebook systems. The reviewed system included specs such as:
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 1.6GHz
- Windows Vista Business Edition
- 2GB of RAM
- 100GB HDD
- 12.1 inch 1024 x 768 resolution display
- Intel GMA X3100 graphics
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 2.0
- Measures 10.5 x 9.3 x 0.8 inches and weighs 3.3 lbs
Here’s the verdict from LaptopMag:
If you want an ultraportable that performs-and feels-like a mainstream business machine, this is the one to get.
The second interesting review is of the sexy ASUS G1S Gaming Notebook here. The specs to the system that LaptopMag reviewed includes:
- Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.2 GHz
- Windows Vista Home Premium
- 2GB of RAM
- 160GB HDD
- LightScribe 8x SuperMulti DVD burner
- 15.4 inch display with 1680 x 1050 resolution
- NVIDIA 8600M GT graphics
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0
- Measures 13.9 x 11.2 x 1.5 inches and weighs 6.8 lbs
Here’s the verdict:
All told, the G1S isn’t the fastest rig in town, but it’s a solid gaming notebook that offers portability at an affordable price. If you don’t mind its short battery life, the Asus G1 is an excellent choice.
