One of the best features of the Nintendo Wii is arguably its small form factor. Of all the next-gen consoles out on the market, the Wii is the only one that doesn’t require the space of a friggin HTPC. Yet despite this, the Wii still isn’t exactly considered portable. (Of course, the Wii wasn’t designed for the portable market but we’ll ignore that right now). Well a Japanese company called Century Corp. is trying to change that for the Wii. They’ve introduced an LCD system that attaches directly onto the Wii – thereby turning the Wii into a complete all-in-one system for portable use. With this display in hand, you can now bring the Wii with you on long road trips and keep the kids busy in the backseats (though you might want to watch out for flying Wiimotes). Will this make the Wii portable? Well depends on how you look at it. It surely doesn’t change the size of the Wii – in fact it makes it larger.. but at least now you have a self contained system to enjoy. The downside? It looks like the device is only available in Japan right now.
