Audio-Technica introduces SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband Wireless Microphone System
I never thought a wireless microphone system could be so cool but clearly I’m wrong as Audio-Technica demonstrates with their new SpectraPulse Ultra Wideband Wireless Microphone System. The SpectraPulse skips past the RF domain since that’s increasingly getting crowded with so many other devices and signals. Instead, the platform utilizes Ultra Wideband technology which operates in the 6GHz frequency spectrum.
Now instead of me trying to explain all of this – I think I’ll just let the Audio-Technica press release speak for itself here:
“Ultra Wideband technology allows the wireless transmission of data in extremely short-duration pulses over a wide spectrum of frequencies. Instead of utilizing conventional channels and carrier frequencies, UWB technology uses a series of short nano-second pulses which occupy an instantaneous bandwidth of 500 MHz within the 6 GHz frequency spectrum. The signals, in precisely timed sequences, result in the reliable transmission of information near noise-floor levels. The “decoding” of these pulses requires the specialized technology incorporated into the SpectraPulse system – making SpectraPulse inherently secure and preventing signal interception by other wireless systems.”
Got it? Good.
The Audio-Technica SpectraPulse system consists of the mtu101 Microphone Transmitter Unit; drm141 Digital Receiver Module; aci707 Audio Control Interface; and cei007 Charger Encryption Interface. What’s great about this system is the ease in which everything can be set up. There’s no frequency scanning or channel planning required – just set things up and go.
Prices for the A-T SpectraPulse range from $1300 to $8600. Definitely give their website a look over for more information.
