iphone with youtube As most of you by now know, Apple announced yesterday that the upcoming iPhone will have built in support for YouTube videos when it launches on June 29th.  YouTube videos will be streamed wirelessly over either Wi-Fi or EDGE networks depending on your location at the time.

The Apple iPhone will contain a special YouTube player that you’ll be able to launch right from the home screen. Not only can you watch videos wirelessly over the Internet, you’ll be able to share videos with your friends simply by sending them an email with the link to the video within it.

The other major announcement yesterday was the availability of the new Apple TV update which brings YouTube content straight to your home via Apple TV. Apple announced at the end of last month that they had struck a deal with YouTube to bring their content to the Apple TV platform. Well 3 weeks later, we see the fruition of that agreement. Go get the update – I sure did and I’ll write about it shortly. You won’t be able to see all of the YouTube content on Apple TV as of yet – just some of them thus far. YouTube is currently converting their entire video catalog into H.264 format which is supported by both Apple TV and Apple iPhone.

Stay tuned for our look at the YouTube update to the Apple TV. It’s better than I thought!
