Roku introduces BrightSign HD Solid State Media Player
If you’re a user of digital signage products,then you’ll want to check out the newly announced Roku BrightSign HD2000 solid state media player. The HD2000 is the first BrightSign media player to support high definition video playback as well as offer playlist support. Connect the BrightSign HD2000 to an external display (such as an LCD monitor, or a HDTV), and you’ll instantly be able to convey messages across to people using HD video.
The BrightSign HD2000 is designed to be simple to use. Simply insert a removable flash card to display looping playback of video, image, and audio content using playlists. There’s a complete scripting solution called BrightScript which allows you to program in interactivity to the display. A quote from the press release:

The HD2000 can connect to external displays using HDMI or Component Video. Other features include two USB ports, three stereo analog audio outs, SPDIF audio out, GPIO port for button or switch inputs and LED or other outputs, IR remote control, Ethernet, and two serial ports. The HD2000 will sell for $499.99 individually or for $375 in quantities of 1,000 units.
