New 40 and 46 inch LCD TVs from NEC
Electronista has some tidbits on two new models of the NEC MultiSync 20 Series of HDTVs – the 40 inch LCD4020 and the 46 inch LCD4620. Both television sets utilize a new pixel technology called CV12 which uses chevron shaped pixels instead of rectangular shaped pixels. The chevron shaped pixels provide double the contrast and off-angle color shifts are significantly reduced. Both displays have a 720p capabilities with a resolution of 1366×768 (that’s a bit of a bummer when you consider the size of these displays). There are two lineups – an IT version designed for PC comes with DVI, VGA, and coaxial inputs, and an AV version which adds component, HDMI, RCA, S-Video, and Serial-port inputs. There’s even an expansion slot for those who want to add an HDTV tuner down the road.
Prices for the IT version will range from $4400 to $6300 while the AV versions will cost $4600 to $6600.
