TeamSpirit Mobile Voice & Video Engine comes to HTC TyTN
SPIRIT DSP has announced that HTC has chosen to use its TeamSpirit Mobile Voice and Video Engine platform to be integrated into the HTC TyTN Windows Mobile smartphone (which is also known as the HTC-Z in Japan). With TeamSpirit Mobile Voice and Video Engine in place, HTC TyTN users will be able to enjoy a complete video telephony solution on their phone (think video-over-IP calls). The system utilizes SIP which means it’ll be usable over any network – including WiFi – in 200 countries.
TeamSpeak Mobile Voice and Video Engine doesn’t depend on a specific carrier and is small enough to operate within a 200MHz processor footprint. The HTC TyTN makes a perfect platform to bring Video-over-IP services primarily because it’s the first Windows Mobile device to support HSDPA. The TyTN itself has specs that include:
- Wi-Fi support
- Tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support
- Bluetooth support
- Sliding keyboard for easy typing
- Secondary camera for video telephony
- 128MB ROM
- 64MB RAM
- 2.8 inch TFT LCD screen with 240 x 320 screen and 65K colors
- 2 megapixel main camera
- Micro SD card
