Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices (SHC) introduced a new Gigaset device with integrated VoIP functionality called the Gigaset S450 IP. The S450 IP is what Siemens calls a “hybrid cordless communications system” which suppors both fixed line (PSTN) and VoIP networks. The phone can be preconfigured by service providers for their specific VoIP networks without the need of a PC.

This handset allows you to easily switch between Internet based phone calls and fixed-line calls at the touch of a button. The system also supports Gigaset.net which means you can call worldwide to any other VoIP phone via the Gigaset.net for free and without any setup.

Features of the Siemens Gigaset S450 IP include:

  • Support for both VoIP and fixed line calls without PC
  • Dual mode: Easy switch from VoIP calls to fixed line calls by single keypress
  • Expandable phone system with multiline functionality for up to 6 handsets and 6 SIP accounts from different providers
  • Up to 3 calls in parallel: 2 VoIP calls and 1 fixed-line call with multiple handsets
  • E-mail notification with time, date and subject
