TorrentSpy users be warned. A federal judge in the Central District of California in Los Angeles has ordered TorrentSpy.co, to create logs detailing users’ activities on the site. The one good thing thus far – the same judge (Jacqueline Chooljian) granted a stay of the order on Friday to allow the website to file an appeal to the ruling. The order actually came down from the court on May 29th but the decision was kept sealed until yesterday.

If the court order stands, “It is likely that TorrentSpy would turn off access to the U.S. before tracking its users”, stated Ira Rothken, attorney for TorrentSpy. This order goes against the privacy policy in place by TorrentSpy which states the website will never track its visitors without their consent.

So TorrentSpy users – this is something you should keep track of over the next few weeks and months.
