Dell to exit the LCD television market?
Dell is reportedly exiting the LCD television market according to the Chinese language “Economic Daily” report. This exit occurs as Michael Dell is performing an overhaul of the company’s business in an attempt to focus the company on core PC products. According to News.com, a Dell representative had no comment on the Economic Daily report.
With LCD television prices dropping like a brick – it’s not hard to imagine Dell leaving this space. It’s ironic – many thought it would be the likes of Dell that would bring LCD prices down. In fact, it’s been many small no-name vendors that have caused LCD prices to plummet over the last several years.
