If you’re looking to build a quiet computer system, you might be interested in one of the two new processors that came out from AMD a few days ago. They introduced the AMD Sempron 2100+ processor as well as the AMD Geode LX 800 processor (big whoop there). Both processors are part of AMD’s Embedded Solutions offering from AMD.

The new AMD Sempron 2100+ processor features:

  • AMD64 technology
  • 9W power envelope
  • Fanless system design
  • Compatible with AMD M690T chipset

If you’re looking to build an embedded solution and processing power isn’t your main concern, then you MIGHT be interested in the new AMD Geode LX 800 processor. The new LX 800 is available at 0.9W and supports designs that need to be deployed in harsh temperature environments. How harsh you might ask? AMD claims the range in temps can be from -40C to +85C.
