Addonics Technologies has announced a new hard drive kit called the Diamond Hard Drive Kit which provides built in eSATA and SATA connectors thereby turning any SATA hard drive into either an external hard drive or a removable cartridge drive.  According to Addonics, the Diamond Hard Drive Kit is the first enclosure that features both an integrated eSATA connector and a SATA connector. It also provides the first direct bridge design – connecting a SATA hard drive to the computer via native SATA mode.

With the Diamond Hard Drive Kit, you simply place the SATA hard drive inside the Diamond enclosure and then decide how you’d like to connect the drive to your system. You can opt to get the Diamond SATA drive cradle for your computer which will let you use your Diamond enclosure as a removeable hard drive cartridge or you can connect externally via the eSATA connector (or via USB with an optional eSATA-USB connector).

It’s a pretty nifty storage solution for those who often find themselves in need of swapping out hard drives from their system.
