[...] I must admit that when Apple first announced that YouTube support was coming to Apple TV, I yawned. Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love YouTube and I think it’s revolutionized the way we think about content on the web. However, I just couldn’t imagine the concept of watching YouTube videos from the comfort of my own living room. I honestly never had the desire to do so before so why would I want to now? YouTube, for me, was relegated to the computer screen - not my HDTV display. Thus when Apple announced the Apple TV update was finally available on Wednesday.. I yawned yet again. I thought to myself “That’s nice. I finally get some YouTube videos. Big Whoop.” [...]

[...] The other major announcement yesterday was the availability of the new Apple TV update which brings YouTube content straight to your home via Apple TV. Apple announced at the end of last month that they had struck a deal with YouTube to bring their content to the Apple TV platform. Well 3 weeks later, we see the fruition of that agreement. Go get the update - I sure did and I’ll write about it shortly. You won’t be able to see all of the YouTube content on Apple TV as of yet - just some of them thus far. YouTube is currently converting their entire video catalog into H.264 format which is supported by both Apple TV and Apple iPhone. [...]
