DVR users lose out in American Idol finale
Yes I’ll admit to it. I’m an “American Idol” fan. So you can imagine how annoyed I was last week when the final American Idol results show lasted approximately ten minutes longer than normal. Why was I annoyed you might ask? I, along with millions of other DVR users out there, were unable to watch the final results simply because the show ran much longer than expected. Even users who pad their show recordings by several minutes would have missed the ending since this particular show lasted so darn long. PVRBlog points out an important thing you should do as a result – when recording live shows, always make sure to pad many minutes to the end of the recording. Live shows tend to run longer simply because.. well they’re live! In all honesty, I wasn’t THAT annoyed since I had already found out via the Internet that Jordin Sparks won the contest (thank God!) but.. I would have liked to have seen the ending nevertheless. Oh well. Another downer for an otherwise down year for American Idol if you ask me.
