Several years ago, I was really into the whole small form factor PC craze popularized by the likes of Shuttle computer. Since then, I’ve come back to Earth a bit realizing that I really do like the size that mid-towers provide sometimes. This isn’t to say that SFF boxes don’t have their place in computing – they most certainly do. Case in point – the LPC-450 from Stealth Computer Corporation. This tiny box measures 14.6 x 24.2 x 4.2 cm yet includes an Intel Core 2 Duo processor inside. Yup – in many ways this box puts the Apple Mac mini to shame (since it only has the older Core Duo processor).

Features on the LPC-450 include:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo processor
  • Intel 945GM chipset
  • Up to 1GB of RAM
  • Up to 160GB SATA 2.5 inch HDD
  • Slim DVD/CD-RW drive
  • Intel GMA 950 graphics
  • Ethernet up to 1 Gbit
  • AC’97 audio
  • Support for Windows Vista
  • Aluminum chassis
  • 2 USB 2.0 ports
  • 1 VGA port
  • Weighs 8 lbs

My only problem with this SFF machine – it’s not exactly the most attractive box out there.
