As I mentioned earlier this morning, T-Mobile has begun selling the new T-Mobile Wing Windows Mobile Smartphone on their website. At the time of posting, I did not have confirmed info on the pricing of the phone but now the info is on the T-Mobile website here. It boils down to this. The Wing is available for $499.99. If you activate a new service with T-Mobile according to their guidelines, the Wing can be yours for $299.99 after a 150 dollar instant discount and a $50 mail-in rebate.

Now more importantly, let’s check out some of the early reviews of the Wing!

The first review comes from the folks at LaptopMag. Yes I cite these guys a lot and no, I have no affiliation with them. I just like reading their content so I post it here too (as if they really needed my publicity). In any case, you can find the review here on LaptopMag’s website. Here’s their verdict:

If you’re sold on Window Mobile 6 and T-Mobile, the Wing is a solid choice. Power users who can afford the $100 premium over the Dash will appreciate its larger screen and roomier keyboard, and that it runs the full version of Office Mobile. Those who need fast data speeds everywhere they go, however, should hold out for HTC’s upcoming WM6 phone with EV-DO Rev. A capability.

Yeah – that was my main concern. This is a cool phone but there’s no support for 3G services like HSDPA. Wait for EV-DO you might say? Well that nullifies T-Mobile as your service provider then.

A second review of the Wing comes from the folks at PC Magazine here. Here’s their verdict:

It’s a solid smartphone in its own right, but the T-Mobile Wing really needed a CPU bump.

Hmm – there’s another consideration. I didn’t think about the included processor on this phone. It’s a shame that it’s the same processor as the previous MDA phone from T-Mobile.
