Notice something different about Google’s home page today? Google unveiled their largest revamp ever to their home page today – launching what amounts to a universal search page – a single location to find everything related to a search term. The redesign will allow users to find content across a variety of media from a single page. You will no longer have to search under images, videos, photos to find the relevant keywords. According to co-founder Sergey Brin, the revamp work began two years ago and more than half of the company’s search efforts were devoted to it.
You’ll now also find what Google calls the “Universal Navigation Bar” on top of Google search as well as other pages at Google. This bar will allow users to quickly get to other related Google services – basically a way to cross promote various services at Google with one another.
