Fans of the WordPress blog engine will be happy to hear that a new version has been unleashed to the open source community – WordPress 2.2. The new version includes many new features including:

  • WordPress Widgets
  • Full Atom support
  • New Blogger importer
  • Infinite comment stream
  • etc

Check out this WordPress.org page for additional information on the upgrade. We’ll be upgrading to 2.2 shortly (after I make sure to back things up etc). If you’ve never used WordPress before and you’re looking for a cool blog engine, then definitely give it a look over. I’ve been using WordPress for several years now and I wouldn’t use anything else (at least that’s free).
