PLX Technology shows off USB Duet technology at WinHEC
If you happen to be at this year’s WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Conference) being held in Los Angeles, then you should check out PLX Technology’s demo of their USB Duet technology. USB Duet Technology is a simple way to connect two PC’s using a low cost standard USB cable. All you need to make this work is a USB Duet port on a client PC. Features of PLX’s USB Duet Technology include:
- Connect two PC’s with a simple USB cable
- Performance up to 480 Mbps
- Software programmable functions including File sharing, PC Migration, Data Synchronizations, Networking, etc
- Easy hardware integration
PLX will be demonstrating the first Ultra-Mobile PC systems enabled with USB Duet technology. Two demos will be on hand showcasing the technology – one that connects a UMPC machine to an Xbox 360 console and one that connects a UMPC to another PC. The first demo shows that a UMPC can be connected to an Xbox 360 and then made to look like a USB storage device – which means you’ll be able to stream content from the device straight to the Xbox 360. The second demo shows how you can connect a UMPC device to a PC in a “docking” fashion. Once connected, you can share devices like keyboards, mouse, and monitors.
