Finally, Motorola refreshed their RAZR flagship mobile phone line with the introduction of the new RAZR2. The next generation phone will come in three flavors and will feature things such as CrystalTalk technology, up to 2GB of on board memory, Web browsing support, real time point to point video, and ultra-fast menu navigation. Here’s the full feature breakdown:
- The RAZR2 is thinner than ever – shaving 2 mm off the original thickness
- 2 inch external screen – largest in class display
- 2.2 inch internal screen with twice the resolution as before
- Seamless casing, soft touch back, and vacuum metal front finish
- Stainless steel internal frame for strength and durability
- Huge exterior lens is made with chemically hardened glass to be more scratch resistant
- Comes in three versions – the V9 (HSDPA version), the V9m (EVDO CDMA version), and the V8 (GSM) version
- Some versions of the RAZR2 will run Linux/Java
- The RAZR2 V8 will have a completely redesigned UI
- ARM 11 processor – 10 times faster than the original RAZR
- USB 2.0 support
- CrystalTalk technology automatically adjusts audio to ensure clear calls in noisy environments
- RAZR2 V8 talks to consumers by speaking the interactive menu, contact lists, emails, and messages aloud
- Use external screen to read messages
- Up to 2GB of memory
- Windows Media Player 11 compatibility
- External display utilizes Motorola’s “haptics” technology which provides users with vibrating feedback in response to finger taps.
- Full HTML browser
- 2.0 megapixel digital camera
- Real time point to point video feature allows another wireless customer to “See what I seee” while a voice call is in progress. Store up to 2 hours of video footage on the device
The RAZR2 is expected to launch in July but you can pre-order the phone at Motorola’s website.
