Motorola Q fans will be happy to hear that the company has introduced two new versions of the Q – the MOTO Q 8 and the MOTO Q 9. The MOTO Q 8 is the GSM version of the original CDMA based MOTO Q (it’s about time!) while the MOTO Q 9 is a brand new global quad-band 3G QWERTY smartphone.

We’ll focus in on the MOTO Q 9 which becomes available in Italy this week. Features of the Q 9 include:

  • Windows Mobile 6 OS
  • Dual processor HSDPA/UMTS engine for up to 3.6 Mbps speeds
  • Choose from eight messaging inboxes for your corporate and/or personal email including Hotmail, AOL, Gmail, Yahoo!, and other providers – as well as SMS and MMS messages
  • USB 2.0 support
  • TI OMPA 2420 processor
  • 96MB of RAM
  • Redesigned keyboard
  • Support for microSD
  • 256MB of on board flash memory
  • Bluetooth wireless support including A2DP and AVRCP support
  • 2.0 megapixel digital camera with 8x digital zoom and video capture
  • Seven dedicated keys allows users to jump to different features on the phone
  • Light sensors on the front and back automatically adjust screen and keyboard brightness for optimum use

Again – the MOTO Q 9 will be launched in Italy this week and will become available in other parts of the world in the coming months.
