You have to hand it to SanDisk - they’re certainly putting up a good fight within the MP3 player market. Case in point – their newly announced Sansa Shaker MP3 player. Available in blue or pink, this small, affordable portable digital music player is designed for kids and families who want something a bit more fun than the standard Apple iPod or Zune player.

Despite the low price, the SanDisk Sansa Shaker comes with many cool and useful features that will certainly entertain the younger audience. The player comes with two headphone jacks and an integrated speaker allowing you to share your tunes with your friends. Running out of memory isn’t a problem for the Shaker since the device supports SD cards and comes with a 512MB SD card to boot.

Perhaps the coolest feature (or gimmick depending on how you look at it) is the shake feature. Want to change tracks? Simply shake the player and you’ll skip to another track. Don’t want to shake your device? No problem – use the simple controller band to move forward or back through your music. There’s a second controller band which handles volume control.

The Sansa Shaker is available for $39.99 and comes with a USB cable, a lanyard, preloaded songs, and a set of stickers for kids to customize their device with. You’ll also get a AAA battery which should last you 15 hours.
