MPAA’s top 25 piracy colleges/universities
Here’s something interesting (if not somewhat funny). The folks at the MPAA have compiled a list of the top 25 piracy ridden colleges in America. Curious to see if your school is in the list? Well thanks to Ars Technica, here’s the list:
- Columbia University
- University of Pennsylvania
- Boston University
- UCLA
- Purdue University
- Vanderbilt University
- Duke University
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- University of Massachusetts
- University of Michigan
- University of California at Santa Cruz
- USC
- University of Nebraska at Lincoln
- North Carolina State University
- Iowa State University
- University of Chicago
- University of Rochester
- Ohio University
- University of Tennesee
- Michigan State University
- Virginia Polytechnic Institute
- Drexel University
- University of South Florida
- Stanford University
- University of California at Berkeley
There you have it folks. Is your school on that list? Heh Mine isn’t! Woo hoo!! of course…. I knew a number of pirates back in my college days too.. so this list is rather dubious if you ask me. Oh, how did the MPAA come up with the list you might ask? It’s based on a count of the # of students identified as making unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
