Those of you into getting digital content from their computers to their television sets will be interested in the newly unveiled AMD “Active TV” program. “Active TV” is a set of solutions providing users the ability to stream both broadcast and broadband content from their PC to the television via a variety of set top boxes and devices. Of course these devices are then designed to connect to AMD enabled PCs. The Active TV solution will also allow users the ability to create “TV-Web Channels” which they can then distribute around the home. The first of these Active TV solutions will be coming to the US during the second quarter of this year. Companies associated with the new AMD Active TV program include Kjaerulff, Dream Multimedia, WorldSat and BroadQ. Check out ExtremeTech or AMD’s Press Room for additional information.
