Panasonic introduces SDR-S10 Digital Camcorder
Panasonic introduced a new ultra light digital camcorder last week called the SDR-S10. Unlike standard digital camcorders which often utilize Mini-DV tapes for storing captured videos, the SDR-S10 utilizes SD and SDHC memory cards for storing videos and still images. This also means video recording on the SDR-S10 utilizes no moving parts - unlike tape based or even hard drive based camcorders.
Specs on the Panasonic include:
- Impact resistance up to 1.2 meters
- Water resistant
- Quick start allowing the camcorder to record within 1.7 seconds of power on
- Support up to 4GB SDHC cards or 2GB SD cards
- 2.7 inch widescreen LCD display
- 10x optical zoom lens
- 10x – 700x digital zoom lens
- USB 2.0 support
- Measures 31 x 63 x 114 mm and weighs only 182 grams without the battery
