LaptopMag has published a review of the Samsung Q1P SSD ultra-mobile PC here on their website. The Q1P SSD is the solid state drive version of the Q1P (which normally houses a 60GB HDD). You’ll find a 30 GB SSD based disk drive inside the Q1P SSD.  Using a solid state based disk drive over a traditional hard drive means there are less moving parts and lower power requirements for your mobile device.

Other specs to the Samsung Q1P SSD include:

  • 1 GHz Pentium M ULV processor
  • Windows XP Tablet Edition OS
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32 GB NAND Solid State Flash Memory
  • 7 inch display with a resolutioin of 1024 x 768
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support
  • Weight of 1.7 lbs
  • Measures 9 x 5.5 x 1 inches

Here’s the verdict from LaptopMag:

Somewhere between a PDA and an ultralight Tablet PC, Samsung’s UMPC is a marvel of miniaturization with a new solid-state flash drive design.
