ONDA Communication SpA announced a new 3G mobile phone at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona called the N7100. The phone which was developed by both ONDA Communication and ZTE, is the first product from ONDA’s BRIONVEGA line. The phone features:

  • 320 x 240 pixel, 262K color display
  • Rotating 2 megapixel digital camera with integrated flash
  • 2.6 Mbps HSDPA modem
  • Supports DVB-H, DVB-T, DAB, DAT-IP, and T-DMB mobile digital standards
  • Tri-band GSM
  • Supports MP3, AAC, AAC+
  • T-Flash
  • 128MB memory
  • Bluetooth
  • Measures 99 x 53 x 19 mm and weighs 110 grams

The new N7100 will make it’s debut with Telecom Italia Mobile which will also mean that ZTE is the first Chinese mobile phone maker to commercialize a mobile TV phone.

New multimedia-centric mobile TV phone enhances reception quality for end users in Italy

BARCELONA, Spain –(Business Wire)– Feb. 13, 2007 ONDA Communication SpA, a leading mobile phone company in Italy, unveiled today its new advanced 3G DVB-H phone at 3GSM Barcelona, co-developed with China’s largest listed telecommunications manufacturer ZTE and based on the multi-standard receiver chip by Siano Mobile Silicon.

The new phone, N7100, the first product from ONDA’s BRIONVEGA line exhibits, in addition to DVB-H, a set of advanced features – 320×240 pixel, 262K color screen, rotating 2 mega-pixel camera with built-in flash light, 3.6Mbps HSDPA modem, and more. Based on Siano’s SMS1000 chipset, the phone supports DVB-H, DVB-T, DAB, DAT-IP and T-DMB mobile digital standards. Demonstrations of Onda’s BRIONVEGA phone are being held at ZTE’s booth – stand AV02 at the ‘Avenue’ hall, and Siano’s meeting room at hall 4 (room 4.5HS44).

The launch of the BRIONVEGA (N7100) by Onda Communication SpA is expected to make ZTE the first Chinese mobile phone maker to commercialize a Mobile TV.

Italy is the first European country to commercially deploy DVB-H. The DVB-H network in Italy provides coverage in over 2500 towns, reaching approximately 75% of the Italian population.
