I rarely post articles about motherboards but this TechReport review definitely is an exception. They’ve published a review of the new ASUS M2N32-SLI Premium motherboard which comes with several Windows Vista specific extras/features. The most interesting feature found with this motherboard is the inclusion of the ASUS ScreenDuo SideShow device.

Yes that’s right – ASUS is packaging a secondary display called the ScreenDuo with these motherboards allowing you to utilize Windows Vista SideShow.  According to the TechReport, the screen measures 4 x 2.5 x 0.75 inches and comes with a 2.5 inch QVGA display. You connect the display to your ASUS motherboard via a USB connection. Once connected, you can assign Windows Gadgets to the display thanks to the ASUS ScreenDUO application.

The TechReport has published a number of screen captures so make sure to check out the writeup here. There is one curious oddity – the ScreenDuo doesn’t appear in the Vista SideShow control panel. Oh well. I can already imagine a home theater system with this secondary display in use for controlling media.
