One of the first things I learned in an ergonomic training class at Intel was what the correct sitting posture was when working in front of a computer. Of course, learning is one thing and putting this knowledge to good use is a totally different thing. Now, the folks at Brando have come out with a handy USB device that should help reinforce some of these ergonomic concepts. It’s called the VISOMATE USB Vision and Posture Reminder and as the name implies, the device is designed to help position your head within the correct distance relative to your monitor.

The VISOMATE includes an ultrasonic sensor which detects how far you are from your monitor. Combine this with a software application, and you’ll easily find out if you’re too close, or too far from your monitor. If you’re too close, the VISOMATE will shine a bright red LED at you. If you’re not in the recommended distance, the device will shine a blue LED. If you’re just right, then the LED light simply flashes.

The Brando VISOMATE is powered by the USB port and measures 56 x 56 x 24 mm. Price? Only $26 bucks. Not bad!
