If you’re looking for an inexpensive notebook featuring the latest Windows Vista OS, then check out the Everex 15.4 inch StepNote VA4101M Notebook being sold at Wal-Mart. This notebook costs a mere $518 at Wal-Mart and features a low end Intel Celeron M processor running at 1.46 GHz as well as Microsoft’s Windows Vista Home Basic.

Features of the Everex StepNote VA4101M include:

  • 15.4 inch TFT Active-Matrix WXGA widescreen display with 1280 x 800 resolution
  • 1.46 GHz Intel Celeron M Processor 410
  • 512MB of DDR II 533 memory – up to 2GB max
  • 60GB HDD
  • DVD-ROM/DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
  • Via Chrome 9 HC IGP
  • HD Audio with headphone/line out jack and microphone/line in jack
  • 802.11 b/g
  • Ethernet
  • 56K moden
  • VGA port
  • 3 – USB ports
  • 1 DC in port
  • Rechargeable Lithium Ion battery
  • Measures 14.1 x 10.7 x 1.5 inches and weighs a mere 5.9 lbs

Although I’m not particularly fond a 1.46 GHz Celeron M processor, this system should prove to be a useful secondary system for the home. Plus having a mobile system with a 15 + inch screen certainly is handy too.
