Canon introduces HV20 HD camcorder for consumers
Consumers rejoice! Canon has introduced a new HD camcorder designed specifically for you! It’s called the Canon HV20 HD Camcorder and it brings professional level HD video features into a small horizontal style form factor common to consumer camcorders today. With the HV20 HD, you can record true 1080 HD video and even get a real movie feel with a 24p Cinema mode.
Features of the Canon HV20 HD Camcorder include:
- True HD CMOS Sensor for 1920 x 1080 recording
- On chip noise reduction technology
- 10x optical zoom lens
- 2.96 megapixel CMOS image sensor
- DIGIC DV II Image Processor
- 24p Cinema Mode enables “film look” options
- HD and SD recording modes
- Edit and share your video
- HDMI
- Instant AF feature to significantly reduce the time it takes to find focus even in low light conditions
- Super Range Optical Image Stabilization feature to reduce shake
- Smooth Zoom Speed Control
- 2.7 widescreen LCD display
Sounds great right? So how much and when? Well the Canon HV20 HD camcorder will be coming out in April for an estimated selling price of $1099 – not too bad for an HD level camcorder but still a bit out of my price range. If they fall to around $500, then we’re talking!
