NuVo is launching their new NV-M3 Music Server device for a price of $2199. The NV-M3 is designed to manage all of your home digital music and will sync to a home PC running Microsoft’s Windows Media Player. The main way of getting music to the NV-M3 is as follows. Download or rip the music to your PC and then have the NV-M3 sync to the PC – copying the content onto the NV-M3’s 160 GB internal HDD.
Here are the key features of the NuVo NV-M3 Music Server:
- Supports muti-zone output – up to three different songs can be played in different zones
- 160 GB HDD
- Works with Windows Media Player 10/11
- Connect to PC via USB with support from NuVo Music Server and Windows Media Player
- Supports Microsoft’s PlaysForSure program
- Supports WMA, MP3, and WAV
- OLED display in the front
- Polycarbonate display surface
It sure seems like a nice little music player but do you really need to spend $2199 for such a device? For that kind of money, wouldn’t be better to purchase a Media Center PC? (or lots of Apple TV devices?)
