SanDisk’s Sansa Connect wins two Best of CES awards
Congrats to SanDisk for winning two Best of CES awards for their new Wi-Fi enabled MP3 player – the SanDisk Connect. The awards came from CNET and from LAPTOP Magazine respectively. The new SanDisk Connect (or Sansa Connect) is a 4GB flash based MP3 player with wireless networking support. Unlike the Zune which only allows Zune to Zune sharing of files, the Sansa Connect allows you to connect to any open wireless hotspot. From there you can connect to music and online photos services. The Connect is designed to work with premium Internet services which means you’ll be able to enjoy online music subscriptions and even Internet radio.
Features of the SanDisk Sansa Connect include:
- Play music and view your photos
- Enjoy Internet radio wirelessly
- Connect to any open WiFi network
- Get music subscriptions on the go
- Recommend songs to friends
- 2.2 inch TFT color screen
- microSD slot
- Internal speaker
- Standard Sansa 30 pin connector
The Sansa Connect is selling fofr $249.99. Perhaps this is what the Zune should have been in so many ways. Consider if the Zune could even at least connect to the Zune Marketplace over WiFi – now that would have been cool!
