Hitachi introduces 2007 lineup of HDTV displays
Looking for a new HDTV display this year? Well Hitachi certainly wants your business! They’re introducing a new line of HDTV displays encompassing plasma, LCD, and rear projection systems.
We start things off with the new P50H401 – a 50 inch plasma display priced under $2500. How do they accomplish that? Well the P55H401 has a native resolution of 1280 x 1080 instead of the full 1920 x 1080
In addition to the new 50 inch display, Hitachi also introduced a new 42 inch and 55 inch plasma display – the P42H401 and P55H401. These new models have an all new black industrial design with a titanium grey trim.
All three models feature:
- support the fourth generation 1080p PictureMaster IV video processor
- HDMI inputs
- 3 picture setting memories and 3 times for each input since every input device is just slightly different.
The P55H401 50 inch plasma will be released in February for an MSRP of $2499.95. The 42 inch P42H401 will ship in April while the 55 inch P55H401 will ship in July – no word on pricing for either model yet.
Other announcements from Hitachi include the introduction of the new CineForm T501 Series which consists of a 42 inch , 50 inch, and 55 inch model.
Features of the T501 Series include:
- All black design
- High contrast anti-reflective glass screen
- SD Card Photo Viewer
- Deluxe Multi-function Remote
- Split screen capability
- Swivel Tabletop Stand
The 50 inch P50T501 will come out first in February followed by the 42 inch model in April and the 55 inch model in July.
Moving to the LCD front, Hitachi is introducing their new LCD H201 and Cineform T301 lineup which includes 32 inch and 37 inch models. Both series offer 1366 x 768 resolutions and come in a sleek black finish.
The H201 Series features:
- PictureMaster IV 1080p processor
- Quickstart seamless ATSC, QAM, and NTSC tuner
- Three 1080p HDMI inputs
The T301 Series features:
- Supports IPS-PRO 120Hz technology which doubles the frequency of images from 60Hz to 120Hz and inserts a black frame between each normal frame
The 37 inch H201 and T301 models will be available starting in May while the 32 inch models will be available in June.
Finally..Hitachi is introducing a new LCD Rear Projection Full HD1080 HDTV lineup consisting of the 50 inch M50P801, the 55 inch M55P801, and the 62 inch M62P801. Features of the new rear projection LCD system include:
- 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 3 panel light engine
- PictureMaster IV processor
- Sleek bottom pictures
- Gloss black finish
The M50P801, M55P801 and M62P801 will be available in May, June and July 2007, respectively.
