As many of you know, CES nominates and awards many different products for outstanding innovational achievements in a variety of categories. Lucky for me, they had a slew of these nominated products on display at the Sands Expo and I thought it would be neat to show them off here on Krunker.
Keep in mind, this is NOT the all inclusive list of nominated products. For that – check out CES’s website for further information. So without further ado, please enjoy the upcoming pictures of the nominated products.
Starting things off is the Harman Kardon HS 500 Integrated Home Theater system which includes a receiver, DVD player, multi-channel speaker systems, remote control, and accessories – all for an MSRP of $1199.00
The Plantronics GAMECOM X30 for the Xbox 360 received a nomination for the Electronic Gaming category. This headset features Plantronics’ Flex Grip design which provides a secure comfortable fit for extended wear – very important when you’re fragging your enemies in Gears of War!. The X30 retails for $39.95.

The computer is directly integrated into a shopping cart’s handle and is designed to improve a customer’s shopping experience by providing a unique web interface to the customer. Seagate Technology’s FreeAgent External Drive family was nominated for the Computer Accessories category. These new portable drives come in a variety of sizes and offer an elegant easy to use solution for carrying digital content anywhere.
Folks – this is one funky speaker system from Harman Kardon. It’s called the JBL SPOT and it’s a 2.1 speaker system nominated for the Computer Accessories category also. The retail price for this system is $129.95 – a little bit pricier than I would like it to be for a 2.1 system but it’ll certainly raise eyebrows.
Another 2.1 speaker system from Harman that will certainly turn heads is the JBL SPYRO. Same price but slightly different design than the SPOT.
Now here’s a product which will make Alton Brown proud – it’s the Oregon Scientific AW131 Talking Wireless Oven/BBQ Thermometer. You stick the temperature probe in your oven or BBQ and receive verbal alerts wirelessly on the receiving unit. NICE.

HP’s rx5915 Travel Companion (shown above) was also nominated for the Computer Hardware category.
KYE Systems Corp. SlimStar 820 Solargizer keyboard and mouse was also nominated for the computer hardware category. Why? Because these products integrate solar power technology into the keyboard and mouse – that’s why! Very cool – although I suppose that means it would be good if the keyboard and mouse were near sunlight!
No, this is not a UFO folks- it’s the KVH Industries TracVision A7 hybrid phased array antenna which brings DIRECTV, XM Satellite Radio, and local channels to cars in the US. Price? $2995. This was in the Mobile Video category.

Here’s a sweet looking system – it’s the Philips DVD Home Theater System – HTS6600. It features Philip’s SonoWave which provides surround sound in any sort of room design. This elegant system sells for $599.00. I love the simplistic look of the system.
The above system (which is a bit hard to see – sorry) is the Cinema Ribbon Loudspeaker CRM-2 from Sunfire. It’s a compact loudspeaker with supposedly floorstanding performance. Price? $800.00
Rear speakers in surround sound environments are always a pain – why? Because you usually need to run cumbersome speaker wires to the back of your living room or den surely making for an unsightly look. Well here’s the LG Universal Wireless Rear Speaker Kit – ACC97WK.
