Philip’s other new portable DVD system adds an extra element - support for the Apple iPod. The new system is called the Philips docking entertainment system - available in two screen sizes - the DP750 with a 7 inch screen and the DP850 with an 8.5 inch screen.

The base functionality of the new DP750/850 is about DVD playback but once you pop out the remote control and put in an Apple iPod, you’ve got yourself a fully functional iPod video display system. There’s also an SD/MMC memory slot which allows you to view digital photos or DivX movies stored on media cards.

Both the DCP750 and the DCP850 will be available during the first quarter of 2007. The DCP750 will be available for $149 while the DCP850 will sell for $199.
