Samsung introduces 8 megapixel S850
Oh yeah – one more point and shoot digital camera from Samsung – this one’s called the S850 and it comes with:
- 8 megapixel image sensor
- 5x optical zoom lens
- 1/2000 sec shutter speed and ISO equivalency of 1600
- Samsung ASR image stabilization
- Support for several different shooting modes including Children, Portrait, and Backlight
- Support for special effects including Photo Frame (users can choose a frame to border a picture), Highlight (sharpens the foreground while softening the background), and Screen splits (allows users to combine multiple images into a single file)
- Support for in camera image effects to be applied to images
- Support for Samsung’s Wise Shot technology which takes two consecutive images – one with ASR enabled and one with the flash enabled. The user picks the best one of the two
- Built in microphone for 10 second voice memos to be attached to images
- 2.5 inch TFT LCD screen
- Video capture in four different resolutions from 320 x 240 to 800 x 592 at 30 fps and in MPEG-4 format
- 20 MB of internal memory
- SD card support
The Samsung S850 will be available in the spring of 2007
