Samsung introduces 10.1 megapixel S1050 digital camera
Samsung certainly didn’t stop with the L73. They’ve also introduced a new 10.1 megapixel point and shoot digital camera called the S1050. I almost called it a compact digital camera but I guess it really isn’t.. though I think it’s still quite small! The S1050 brings together some features typically found in high end digital cameras down to the consumer level at a reasonable price.
The S1050 features:
- 1/2000 sec shutter speeds and ISO 1600 equivalency
- Samsung ASR image stabilization system
- New dedicated modes for things like Children, Backlight shots, and Portrait shots
- Support for Samsung Wide Shot which like the L73 takes two consecutive shots in rapid succession – one with ASR and one with flash. You then pick the one you like the best
- Dedicated Effect button letsyou appply in-camera image effects such as sepia-tone, RGB color effects, black and white effects. Images can be resized, trimmed, rotated etc.
- 3.0 inch TFT LCD screen
- Video capture in one of four resolutions from 160 x 128 to 800 x 600 at 20 fps and in mpeg-4 format
- Rechargeable Ni-MH battery or AA battery support
- Measures 3.9 x 2.5 x 1 inches
- 45 MB of internal memory
- SD card support
The new Samsung S1050 will be coming out during the spring of this year for an MSRP of $349.99.
