ASUS introduces the W5Fe notebook featuring support for Windows SideShow
ASUS has formerly introduced the new ASUS W5Fe notebook – one of the first notebooks to feature Windows SideShow technology. If you’re not familiar with SideShow, it’s a new feature found with Windows Vista that let’s the OS display information on a secondary display – whether it’s on the front cover of a notebook or on a remote control or on a VFD display on a Home Theater PC. The ASUS W5Fe is based off of the W5 series of notebooks which includes a high resolution webcam, two spindle design, card reader slot, and Bluetooth 2.0+EDR support.
The external display on the ASUS W5Fe measures 2.8 inches and has a QVGA resolution. ASUS packs in 1GB of NAND flash memory to support Windows SideShow allowing users to store data for display on SideShow. Information can be things like meeting schedules, phone numbers, addresses, and recent email messages.
The specs to the W5Fe include:

- 1.3 megapixel digial camera
- 3 – USB 2.0 ports
- TV out port
- Card reader
- ExpressCard slot
- VGA connector
- Measures 30.5 x 22 x 3.1 cm and weighs 1.7 kg
