At one point in time, when you thought of large LCD monitors, you thought of Apple Cinema Displays. Then slowly, Dell and others started getting into the picture (No pun intended folks) with their own large sized displays. Now, HP has their own 30 incher in the form of the LP3065  and this one’s got three dual-link DVI ports with HDCP support to boot!  ExtremeTech posted a review of the new HP LP3065 30 inch LCD monitor here on their website but before we get to the verdict, let’s look at the specs:

  • 30 inch widescreen display
  • 3 dual link DVI inputs
  • up to 300 nits of brightness
  • 1000:1 contrast ratio
  • resolution of 2560 x 1600
  • 92 % color gamut
  • Integrated USB hub
  • support for HP Silver Flat Panel Speaker Bar
  • Integrated Power Supply
  • 178 degree viewing angle

The monitor sells for $1699 at HPShopping at the moment but let’s see what the verdict from ExtremeTech is:

If you need a high quality, large flat panel display that offers rich color and great image quality, then the LP3065 is worth a close look. But the sticker shock may make you pause.
