Microsoft extends Xbox 360 warranty to one year
Microsoft has decided to give all Xbox 360 owners a little Christmas gift – they’ve extended the 360 warranty from 90 days to 1 year retroactive to when you purchased the console. This applies to old and new consoles in the US and Canada. 360’s sold in other countries already had a one year warranty applied. This also means – if you’ve paid for repair work to be done on your Xbox 360 after the original warranty was over, you’ll be eligible for reimbursement on those repairs from Microsoft.
With the warranty extended to one year, Microsoft brings the Xbox 360 in line with the warranty terms of both the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3. Wii owners can actually get another 90 days after the year simply by registering their console on the company’s website.
