Microsoft has released a new update to the Zune software bringing it to version 1.2. This release brings several updates to the software application but more importantly delivers compatibility with Windows Vista.

Cesar over at ZuneInsider mentions that you can either download the software from Zune.net or install it via Windows Update under Vista. I just tried Windows Update and here’s a snapshot of what you should see.

Here’s a quote from ZuneInsider on the update:

The update also improves the Zune software installation process, addressing the issues that some of the known issues users reported. Like Jason R said recently “It is plumbing stuff, but it is stuff customers will notice and appreciate.” So you should install the update, even if you’re not running Vista.

So install it – even if you’re not running Vista folks.
