LaptopMag has published their review of the i-mate JAQ Smartphone here on their website. This Windows Mobile 5.0 based smartphone certainly looks sweet – both physically speaking and specifications wise. The i-mate JAQ features:
- Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
- 128MB ROM/64MB RAM
- 64k TMR LCD, 2.8 inch screen with 320 x 240 resolution
- miniSD card support
- Integrated antenna
- Bluetooth 1.2 support
- TI OMAP 850 processor running at 200MHz
- Global roaming support
- Measures 122mm x 71mm x 22mm
- Weighs 160 grams with battery pack
Unfortunately while the phone looks sweet from afar, LaptopMag actually found it a bit too large for use in a hand. They had several other issues with the phone and you can view them here at LaptopMag. Here’s the verdict:
Business users looking to stay connected can do better than the JAQ, which seems to have started with good ideas but lost its way in the design stage
