Emerson/IXT has introduced the new M201 Karaoke microphone promising to make “Karaoke” universally accessible as a result. (did we really need Karaoke to be universally accessible? Some people just shouldn’t be allowed near a mic!)

So here are the details to the M201. You can plug the microphone into any home A/V system to create an instant Karaoke system. Once plugged in, your voice can be mixed right with the music being played from any DVD, CD, or music video. The unit comes with a 16 song “Forever Hits” demo DVD and also a 9V battery. You can purchase it for $29.95.

You might be wondering how this actually works (I sure was at first) – well the M201 has a built in mixer so you’re basically plugging the DVD player into the mic and then plugging the mic into something else – say your sound system or tv set.
