Belkin TuneStage II Short Review
Crave has been testing the new Belkin TuneStage II for the Apple iPod (which isn’t quite out yet) and has already posted some early results on the product here on their blog site. If you’re not familiar with the TuneStage II, here are the basic details.
With the TuneStage II, you can play back the tunes stored on your iPod with any home stereo system. What’s unique about the TuneStage II is how this is accomplished. The product is basically two pieces – a base station receiver which connects to your stereo system and a Bluetooth transmitter dongle which connects to your iPod. The transmitter then communicates with the base station using Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and has a range of approximately 30 feet. So picture this – your base station is located at your home theater system, and you walk around with the iPod controlling what music gets played at what point in time. How sweet is that. Both the base station and the transmitter dongle have a USB port which allows the iPod to be charged simply by connecting a USB cable between the two units.
Crave also reports that if you have a Bluetooth device which supports the A2DP protocol, then you’ll be able to pair that device with the TuneStage II as well. NICE.
The Belkin TuneStage II is slated to cost 149.99.
